When driving on the M9, Stirling Castle will show up east of the motorway. As it is build on a hill, it is hard to miss. On 15 April 1916, No. 43 Squadron (now based at RAF Leuchars) was formed at the very foot of the Castle. 

Other than Fallenich farm, there is nothing left of the original airfield. 

 

Rait, a little village just north of the M90 (in between Perth and Dundee) can be seen in the first picture.

The small grass strip can be found just south of Prestwick airport.

The last to pictures show the centre of Ayr.

Karmelava is the city of Kaunas main airfield.

Kaunas is one of Lithuania's oldest cities and is full of old historical buildings.

The apron with the three German aircraft is part of Siauliai - Zokniai airfield. During Soviet occupation this airfield used to be home for many Russian military aircraft.
