56 (Reserve) Squadron 90th Anniversary

To mark the 90th Anniversary of 56 (Reserve) Squadron, the unit followed RAF tradition and flew this “diamond 9” formation of its Tornado F3s. The ‘Firebirds’ were formed on 8 June 1916 at Gosport to finally find home at RAF Leuchars in April 2003. The sortie took place on 23 June 2006 and included flypasts over some famous Scottish landmarks, including the Forth Bridge and the Forth Road Bridge, as well as over RAF Leuchars and the city of Dundee.
